A Letter to the Future
In a time of rapid ecological change, those who dedicate their lives to understanding the natural world—ecologists, entomologists, botanists, and keen amateurs—possess a way of seeing that is both urgent and profound. They notice what most overlook: the shift in insect populations, the silent retreat of plant species, the subtle warnings embedded in soil, water, and sky.
This project is a portrait of these individuals, captured in the places that define their work—field sites, home labs, and offices where they piece together the story of our world. Alongside their images, they offer something deeply personal: a letter to the future. These letters are acts of witness, reflection, and hope. They speak to what has been lost, what remains, and what might still be saved.
"A Letter to the Future" invites us to see through their eyes, to pay attention, and to consider the legacy we leave behind.
