Fatherless Father
Fatherless Father began as a deeply personal exploration—an attempt to understand my own journey into fatherhood. My memories of my dad are faint; he was absent, and then he left. I had no imprint of a present father to serve as a blueprint. But perhaps that absence was also an opening, an invitation to redefine what fatherhood could be.
This project is a series of portraits of dads, each accompanied by conversations about their own fathers and how those relationships shaped—or reshaped—their approach to being a parent. The work weaves together contemporary portraits, my own family archive (which contains only seven photos of my father), and images of my evolving role as a dad.
Fatherless Father remains an ongoing inquiry, just as fatherhood itself is a continuous process of learning, unlearning, and becoming.
